I suppose we all have individuals that we have looked up to and admired.
The heros that I have in mind are not the granddads, parents, siblings , or children.
Rather, they are international people who have made a difference on the world stage.
I limit them to those who did something during my lifetime. Let me describe them.
There are three. All were military men who overcame comunist encroachments,
became dictators for a prolonged period and established order in their countries and then voluntarily retired, leaving excellent governments, based pretty much on good democratic principles. The countries involved have subsequently prospered greatly.
Guess who they are.

Hmmm...Teddy, Winston, and Joseph?
I see you've had to change your tactics in order to get some response from our lazy, or indifferent, viewers.Let's see if it works.
The only one I can come up with is Pinochet from Chile - but I am working on the others! Good post Dad!
Amy
Dear Rummy,
It’s a stab in the dark but I’ll give you Nasser, Tito and De Gaulle. Even beleaguered Musharraf might be a candidate.
Saludos,
El Ruco
It seems to be working! I, for one, must recant on my first three guesses. Scratch all three of them. I agree with Amy, Pinochet is a good choice. El Ruco may have another with De Gaulle, but I'll have to do more searching to find that evasive third. A good oportunity to look into the pages of history. Thanks for the incentive.
