Kosovo declares independence ! Thanks to Bill Clinton , Serbia was beaten into submission by the UN (Really the USA) forces. This allowed the Albanian Moslems to take over the area. These ignorant Islamists had been getting out of Albania as fast as they could. Albania is a Moslem enclave left over by the wonderful Crusades when they were cleansing Europe of the Moslems. Albania had been under one of the most repressive communist dictatorships for 50 years or more.
Monica Lewinski so embarrassed Clinton that he embarked on a war where there was no US interest whatsoever. Perhaps he thought that we would forget his indiscretions. It didn't work out that way.
Now President Bush, to his eternal shame, has recognized Kosovo. This new miserable country of ignorant Islamists, with nothing going for it will now be on the dole for the foreseeable future.
Question 1) Why did we fight the Christian Serbs in favor of the Islamic Albanians ?
Question 2) Why are we determined to to form a new Moslem country in Europe ?
Question 3) What can we do abut it ?
Answer to question #3. Absolutely nothing.

Islam is not noted for it's educational systems. In many countries, womwn are not educated at all. The education of the men is often limited to memorizing the Koran. In the last 300 or more years, nothing has really been accomplished by the Islamic people.
Put this into perspective. Jews have won many Nobel prizes.
Arabs and Moslems have won a very few. Why do you think this has happened?
Good point. Lack of education is a brick wall that secludes and imprisons. Ignorant is just an incredibly unkind word, even if accurately used. Perhaps they choose ignorance. Should they be faulted for that?

Granddad, please reconsider this entire blog. While you have a great point about Islamic educational systems being unfortunately anemic, I urge you to do more fact checking:
Fist off, I believe that Kosovo is generally considered a secular Muslim state...
Second of all, many Muslims have been awarded Nobel Peace Prizes, which is a great testament to the will of brilliant people to succeed against all odds.
Meanwhile, Jews have made many contributions to science and yes, create more patents annually than people of any other nationality.
Why? Perhaps it has something to do with the billions upon billions of dollars of American tax dollars that have been poured into Israel over the years, or the incredible sums of money awarded to the Holocaust survivors (also savvy investors) who have consequently had fat trust funds to ensure that their children and children's children will be afforded good educations.
Meanwhile, the many wars, disputes, and political issues (including, but not limited to separatist struggles) cleaving Islamic nations have made it difficult for Muslim people to survive day-to-day, let alone acquire the educational level generally associated with the Nobel.
I don't think it is fair to say that being Muslim is enough to make one ignorant, or that being "Jewish"--which is neither necessarily a religious assignation or an ethnic group-- is enough to make one prone to success.
I'm just saying...
I never said that Moslems (largely Arab) were stupid. On the contrary, they are shrewd and when they escape from the grip of Islamic governments, they prosper and contribute to society.
There is a huge difference between ignorant and stupid. I think the latter would be pejorative but not thr former.
