Poor Presidant Bush. He has made many mistakes and omissions as even I agree.
But I see some of the good things he has acomplished also. There have even been a few great moments.
Something here for you Bush haters to think about. Did you see the great peace conference started today at Anapolis? This is a Bush initiative with 40+ nation involved. His opening speach was awe inspiring. Eloquent, powerful. In short, wonderful. One of his finest moments. Something might come of this. Can you haters give him any credit for this great initiative ?

Just to clarify, I am not a hater. I admit to not having much use for the Jr. Bush, but hate is a little strong. That said, it will take more than a 24 hour "peace conference" to change my opinion of the president. I have a hard time believing that "peace conference" isn't just a pretty name for an uglier agenda. I would love to be wrong about this, but seven years of lies create a serious lack of trust. Keep up the cheering section. He needs all the friends he can get.
In the era before Bush got elected, I stated that he scared me. I made the same comment about Putin before he got elected. Well, Bush scares me now a lot more than he did then and Putin scares me a lot less than he did then. Why? Putin is open and transparent about his push to gain power and to change the government, and Bush is not. Bush is like a possum, many think he is not very smart and thus he is not taken seriously. Meanwhile, in the background he does secretive things that will forever change the American landscape and politics. Some may discount his actions or think they will not have profound effects -- god, I hope they are right and I am wrong!
As for the "peace conference," from what I have seen, read, and heard, this is apparently the first time in history that such a conference has been held with no pre-negotiations to set the stage for the conference (however, it is a short history).

Hello Tom and all Schmidt bloggers. Just got this year's DXCM with the blog address and immediately logged in. Who would not be drawn to ruminations from Tom? I was not disappointed.
I had a hard time deciding where to post a comment, but was ultimately drawn to this one.
While Bush and his posse have been out riding the high sierra's trying to subdue the Indians the ranch has come into terrible disrepair.
We need to get back to the basics, here, at home.
